Job Description:
Insurance Solutions manufactures Sun Life Canada’s individual life and living benefits products and manages all in force Individual Insurance sold in Canada.
Reporting to the Director, Channel Enablement, The Manager, Channel Enablement will champion the promotion of individual insurance products, concepts and strategies. A strategic thinker and solid collaborator, they’ll help Insurance Solutions achieve its vision, strategy and objectives.
The Manager will support Insurance Solutions’ Go to Market initiatives for new business and in force insurance launches, communications, campaigns and incentives. Leveraging Insurance Solutions’ Go to Market framework, the Manager will foster strong relationships across stakeholder groups to deliver on Go to Market initiatives and help Sun Life retain its leading position in the industry.
Qualifications
Understanding of insurance products and solutions offered by Sun Life
Understanding of Retail and Direct to Client distribution channels
5+ years of marketing/promotions/communications experience within the insurance or financial services industry
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide
Strong writing skills and the ability to position products appropriately for advisor and client audiences
5+ years of experience with project management and the ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks at the same time
Proficiency working with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, SharePoint
Assets
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
A background in sales and/or sales support
Solid understanding of marketing concepts, strategies & approaches used to sell financial products and services
Strong collaborator with solid negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism
Strong attention to detail
Responsibilities
Support Insurance Go to Market initiatives
Collaborate with product, distribution (SLFD, IID, Prospr, Direct to Client), marketing, CXO, product teams, Insurance Operations and New Business to create effective insurance Go to Market plans
Support all stakeholders in development and implementation of Go to Market and distribution activation tactics
Provide visibility into Go to Market plans for key stakeholders
Manage multiple Go to Market initiatives at the same time
Develop product messaging
Provide key messages and subject matter expertise to communicate insurance products’ value propositions, in partnership with product teams
Ensure marketing messages reflect product design and support profitable sales
Partner with corporate communications, media relations, marketing and corporate digital teams to ensure that individual insurance is represented
Partner engagement
Understand the needs of distribution and sales support teams to effectively deliver product promotions
Foster relationships with all partners to ensure alignment, consistency in key messages and tools to drive sales
Engage partners to communicate requirements, and the value proposition, to ensure initiatives are understood, supported and ultimately meet the needs of our distribution channels

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
